暗記〈する〉 Memorize	あんき	この文を暗記するのに、１時間もかかった。 It took an hour to memorize this sentence.
記憶〈する〉 Memory	きおく	小学校のとき、この本を読んだ記憶がある。 I remember reading this book, when I was in elementary.
くり返す To repeat	くりかえす	日本語の文を、何回もくり返してよむ。 I read the Japanese sentences over and over again.
聞き取る To hear, to catch	ききとる	単語を聞き取って、書いてください。 Please listen to the vocabulary words and write them down.
聞き返す To ask again	ききかえす	先生の話がよく聞き取れなかったので、聞き返した。 I couldn’t hear what the teacher said, so I asked again.
聞き直す To listen again	ききなおす	発音を確認するために、もう一度CDを聞き直した。 In order to confirm the pronunciation, I listened to the CD once more.
言い直す To restate	いいなおす	発音を間違えったので、言い直した。 I got the pronunciation wrong, so I said it again.
英会話 English conversation	えいかいわ	英会話を習っているが、なかなかうまくならない。 I'm learning English conversation, but I'm not getting any good at it.
入門 Entering, beginning	にゅうもん	フランス語の入門クラスで勉強しています。 I'm studying in a beginners French class.
